Essential Job-Search Tools for Recent Grads
The great news is that you’ve recently graduated, earning a degree from a fine institution. The challenge is that you’re now searching for a job when unemployment has skyrocketed amid the coronavirus crisis. How can you be as competitive as possible in a crowded field of candidates? During this four-part online workshop, you’ll polish your personal brand and learn about opportunities that aren’t necessarily advertised—all in an encouraging, inclusive virtual environment. You’re welcome to attend any or all of the workshops described below.

Part 1: Find Your Voice (July 13)
• Navigate your new status as a recent grad and job candidate
• Identify your strengths, skills, and accomplishments
• Manage your negative self-talk
• Target your audiences
• Lay the foundation for your personal branding statement (e.g., for LinkedIn, elevator pitch) formula

Part 2: Craft Your Branding Statement (July 20)
• Craft your personal branding statement (e.g., for LinkedIn, elevator pitch) for group critiques
• Avoid common errors in cover letters and résumés
• Raise your visibility

Part 3: Grow Your Professional Network (July 27)
• Connect with professionals in your field
• Obtain informational interviews (i.e., coffee chats—virtual or in person)

Part 4: Present Yourself Authentically and Professionally (August 3)
• Practice mock behavioral interviews
• Think creatively about your action plan
